Holland

Hollandis a city in thewesternregion of theLower Peninsulaof theU.S. stateofMichigan. It is situated near the eastern shore ofLake MichiganonLake Macatawa, which is fed by theMacatawa River(formerly known locally as the Black River).

Holland is the largest city in Ottawa County, and as of 2013 part of the Grand Rapids-Wyoming-MuskegonMetropolitan Statistical Area. Holland was founded byDutch Americans, and is in an area that has a large percentage of citizens of Dutch American heritage. It is home toHope CollegeandWestern Theological Seminary, institutions of theReformed Church in America.
